We recommend using this tensioner/dampener when replacing the tensioner on your LS V8. The VE/VF style of tensioner that is spring loaded is known to break and pieces of plastic can enter your sump. On the LS1's they don't come with a tensioner at all. We well the Tensioner Install kits separately if required. Please search our listings or ask us for the link.
